Our aspiration is to be “a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive community growing in faith and love.” You will see this vision take practical form throughout this website across the different services, groups and activities that make up our parish life.

We attempt to fulfil that aspiration by:

  • Growing in discipleship and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ;
  • Building strong community connections within and beyond our church;
  • Advocating and working together for Gospel-based justice;
  • Caring for creation and for each other.

Our parish incorporates worshipping communities in our churches of St Peter’s, Glenelg, and St Martin’s, Glenelg South and also we are affiliated with St Peter’s Woodlands Grammar School, which started its life in the parish as St Peter’s Day and Sunday School in 1863.

We are proud that the current St Peter’s Church is built on the site of the first Christian service in the South Australian Colony on 1st January 1837.

We do however acknowledge the long spiritual and cultural association with this land that the Kaurna people have had for millennia. We pay respect to their elders and always remain committed to the shared journey of reconciliation.
